Hello, I have a customer who wants me to connect their CallPilot 100 to their LAN.

I came across this youtube video that shows how to easily change the ip from the CallPilot ethernet interface -

The video describes opening the CallPilot Manager program, clicking Configuration then clicking "Unit Address Identification" where the ip can be changed very easily.

I've been scouring the search forum and reading lots of posts and was surprised to find no reference to this method on Tek-Tips anywhere.

I know changing the ip through a serial connection is possible but the serial method appears considerably more difficult plus I don't have a laptop with a serial connector.

Can anyone shine some additional light on changing a CallPilot ip address via the ethernet interface?

I do not understand....
The video shows exactly how to do it via Ethernet interface (via browser), but you ask how its done via Ethernet interface.
Which part are you stuck or not sure on because the video is spot on.

As for the mistaken mention of Rollover cable in the video I am guessing this could be used too but I have never tried it.
That rollover cable is Serial (RS232) to Ethernet(RJ45).

Also search for USB to Serial Adapter as another way.
You may get a CD with it that has the driver on it.

Either of the two serial methods above would require:
In a program such as Putty you would choose Serial instead of SSH, in settings change the connection settings (baud rate etc) and bump the scroll buffer size very high so you can scroll up and down all the data output.

Baud Rate: 9600
Data bits: 8
Parity: None
Stop bits: 1
Flow Control: Hardware

I should also mention if the Callpilot is not at the default IP address then choices are to find out what it is:
-Connect with Serial port and Putty or Hyper Terminal etc, reboot the Callpilot and watch for the IP address to show, or scroll up when completed and change it on the spot
-Use at IP scanner software
-Connect the Callpilot to your laptop with Ethernet and use command prompt: arp -a
-Reinstall Callpilot

Thank you sir.

I'm curious if the User Address Identification program field exists in all CallPilot 100s or just certain releases.

I haven't been to the customer site yet and can't remember seeing the User Address Identification program setting before.

I read some posts earlier where posters were asking how to change the ip address on a CallPilot but the ethernet method was never mentioned.

Thanks again for the input.

Aside from Call Center and AMIS Networking the programming should all be the same between the 100 and 150 as the only other difference is the hardware.

Most whom post about changing the IP address is because they do not know the existing address to connect too hence no mention of the browser method, which is in the guides anyway.

The browser/ethernet method is in the Callpilot Setup and Operation Guide
Both the browser/ethernet and the serial method is in the Callpilot Installation & Maintenance Guide
