I have a backup job in Arcserve 6.6 which is set to run on autopilot everynight. The owner of the job is the previous administrator who has now left. I need to delete this user from the Novell NDS. How do i change the job owner though before i delete him?

Best way is to resubmit the job. A lot of people have a specific backup user just incase such an occurence happens. Also, if the job is submitted using your login account as authentication and your account gets deactivated for some reason (disabled, intruder lockout, password expired etc..), your backup may fail. -----------------------------------------------------

Thanks for that. But how do i resubmit a job. Do i have to recreate it from scratch or can i copy the current settings into a new job, using the same media pool?

If you wish to make an amendment to an Arcserve job, you can go into the Job Status area of the Arcserve Manager and modify the job in the queue from there.

I find it best to do this whilst logged in as the user you wish to submit the job as so it will be in that users name. Do not forget to change the authentication details to this account (from the one you wish to delete) also. -----------------------------------------------------
