change all external calls to appear from main number 1

Hi I have a Nortel BCM 400. I am a computer tech with a little bit of knowledge of our phone system but not enough.

Is it possible to change all our outgoing calls so they appear as coming from one number. Currently all outgoing calls appear to come from different numbers but not our main number *** 3500. I want it to appear to all receivers of our outgoing calls that the call came from our main number **** 3500. I have been searching the bcm400 manual but cannot find anything and think i may be using incorrect terminology, any hints or clues re doing this. our version is 3.7. I would have thought this would be easy to do but buggered if i can find the right answer.

What type of trunks are you using ?

Hi Khosher,

I believe I have BRI-ST trunks on my outgoing physical lines.

If you have BRI multiple BRI trunks for outgoing call, the outgoing CLI will be the lead number of the BRI you are actually calling from and there is no way to manipulate that from the BCM. Your service provider may be able to help to this, but you cannot do it from the BCM yourself.

How do I tell if i have multiple BRI trunks?? I do know that our phones will grab any one of about 10 lines for outgoing calls and seems to be random every time you make a call. Does that confirm what you have advised me??

Yes, that is it. A BRI only has two channels. So each time it grabs a different outgoing channel and displays different number. I would suggest talking to your telco as they maybe able to do something for you.
