change alias and problem...

hi everyone
i made ls as alias to see directories as a color and other different files in different as follow:
alias ls 'ls --color=yes -FC'
alias . 'pwd'

then i put a same line of code in .cshr

now if i open terminal it works fine but it doesn't work on console can some one tell me why?what is difference between console and terminal?

have a look at the difference between .login and .cshrc ...
