Due to turnover we decided to change the domain administrator password. When we did this Sage CRM ceased to function. I rebooted the server to see if any services were running on the administrator credentials, as these would presumably fail upon reboot. All services started as expected.

Is there someplace in the Sage CRM software itself that the administrator password is stored? Could this be what caused it to fail? If we change the administrator password back, CRM opens just fine.

Any insights appreciated.

Under Control Panel ->administrative tools->services? There are no services that start with the word "Sage". There are some that start with "CRM" but they are configured to run under the local system account not administrator.

Just a guess, poke around HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\eWare\Config\/CRM.

Did you change the DB admin password too (e.g. SA account for MS SQL)?

No we did not change the SQL Server sa password.

I found the registry key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\eWare\Config\/CRM, and under it is a kay DatabasePassword. Are you saying just simply change it here in the registry?

I have not changed the SQL sa password, just the domain administrator password, so I do not understand how this is even related.

Bump. I'd some more insight on this issue.

There are no services called "Sage". And I can't see any way to change the CRM password in the registry. Any insight appreciated.
