For additional Security I wanted to change our Administrator
name to make it a bit more difficult for hackers.

After checking the Microsoft Website - the instructions
seem pretty easy and straightforward - even for a
non-techie like myself.

However, an individual at work who is supposed to be very
knowledgeable in Networks/Servers - said it is much more
involved and that only an IT Company should take this on.
One item he mentioned is that many services run as Administrator on the server and they need to be changed as well.
Is this valid? If so, any idea on why MS didn't mention
it in their instructions - and how do I find out what Services (if any) do need to be changed (and changed to what) ??

Thanks in advance...

This is the beauty of the SBS interface: it is free from the convoluted logic that plagues its ancestors like NT 4.0 and to some degree Server 2003.

Changing the Administrator name is a Best Practice and easily done:

look under "Changing the Account Name of the Built-in Administrator Account"

Keep in mind that renaming it doesn't do much. It still maintains the default SID, which an intruder would know.

Create another admin account, name it something obscure. Test it's access to everything. Then disable the default admin account.
