Change a universe directly? 1

Kind of a noob question I guess.
BOE XI 3.1 on Win2003 Ent.
Is there a way to work on a universe "directly", without having to constantly re-import and re-export it from your dev machine. Or is that THE way?

Nope. Designer is a desktop tool. You make changes and push back to the server.

However, you can test your changes using Desktop Intelligence without pushing to the server.
