Hello Everyone,
We have a user who will be on an extended absence and we would like to prevent his mailbox from taking messages while he is out. The obvious way I thought was to change the mailbox type to Listen Only. However, I am not able to do this. There are no messages of any type in the mailbox. Does anyone know of another way to do this besides building a new mailbox? This is an Octel Aria 250 v3.10.

Thanks,
Perry

You can not change a type 0 to a type 1 mailbox in the Aria.

Change the class of service to allow extended absent greeting and do not allow a message to be left if an extended absent greeting is present. Of course the user will need to record a extended absent greeting for it to work.

See below

Personal Greeting: 1 - One Greeting Network Priority Level: 1 - Standard
Extended Absence Greeting Allowed: Y NameNet Entry Type: 0 - Usage-based
Max Greeting Length (min:sec): 0:00:40 Type of AMIS Networking: 0 - None
Ext. Absence Grtg. Blocks Message: N Forwarding Control: N - Sys. Mgr. Only
Force Personal Greeting: Y
