Challenge Servers

Hello All-<br>
&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;This is a new branch of the &quot;REalistic Challenge&quot; thread. Pleaes post here if you would like to host a server for our tests.<br>
&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;When you post in this thread, please include the foolowing in your message so that we may help you in whatever ways may be necessary:<br>
1. Your home Country & State/Territory, etc.<br>
2. You Do/Do not have a (at least partial) system avail. for the server.<br>
3. Your internet connection stats (bandwidth {modem speed/type}, avg. connection speed, avg. download speed & ISP)<br>
4. Number of systems served by your bandwidth (only necessary if you use multiple computers on the same connection; such as a LAN/WAN internet connection)<br>
5. Hardware you believe you are in need of in order to effectively operate the server.<br>
6. IP address you intend to connect the server to.<br>
7. Linux/Unix/*nix distributions you have, or feel you need in order to effectively run the server.<br>

&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Once you have posted this information, we will work as quickly as possible to fulfill any hardware/software/bandwidth needs that may be had on a lowest-investment-first basis. (limited funding; hope to soon have better funding & ability to change this).<br>
&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Once again, we are really on the verge now; we need only to get the last few peices in place and we are ready to go!<br>

I am in the uk, I could get the server in but I have not got a perment line in to the web so if the connection could be payed for and the money for the server I would gladly build the machine and host the server.<br>

I have a number of Linux boxes at the house and wouldn't mind setting them up, I could put at least 2 up (one with RedHat, another with Slackware and possibly a third with Corel). I'm in the same situation though that I do not have a full-time connection. I'd have to contact them for the pricing structure for a dedicated line.<br>
I'm from Northwest Montana, currently have a 56K dialup connection and have (normally) 4 systems behind the proxy server.

I have a NEC Pent I 166 with Mandrake 6.0 installed. I have RH6 also available. I would enjoy setting up and hosting a server. I am new to Linux, but have been working with SCO for some time now. I will look into a full time connection for the server and get back to the forum.
