We have just received our annual reports in pdf format from our designer so that we can use it on our internet site. It is divided into two parts to make it easier and faster to open. From my machine and the hard drives these files open with no problems and print no problems. My operating system is Window 95. I have acrobat reader 5.0 and writer 4.0.

The files were created in quarkxpress and converted using distiller 5.00 for macs. we use a lotus notes server for our internet site.

We have put both of these files on our test server and and linked them to our publications page. From the test server I have no problems opening the first document but the second document can be downloaded and saved then opened but you cannot open it from explorers. Both files look the same, were created in the same manner and infact the file that I am unable to open is the smaller of the two. It does however have a lot of financial spreadsheet in it.

Can any suggets how to correct and get the files to open on the internet.

You may have had a file transfer error when you uploaded it to your server. You can check by finding the file size of what is on your server and compare it to the local copy on your computer. Compare the number of bytes, not the Kb. Windows and Mac give approximate values in Kb but correct values in bytes. If they differ, try to upload it again.
