Currently, I have to dial 8 to get outside from the one office and 9 to get outside from at aonther office.
How difficult would it be to change the first office to 9 and any one know any qucik steps

Thanks

You only have to change your shortcode,s.

[8]N;
N
0

to

[9]N;
N
0

Or wath ever shortcode,s you use to dail out.
But you have to change the other shorcode from 9 to 8.
You can,t have two the same shortcode,s

Are you dialing out over a remote locations trunks? If not just make both shortcodes be 9, no problems.

If so, you can still have both be 9, you just have to tweak your shortcodes a little. Basically you program system A so that if it sees a user dial a number that is a local call from system B, it automatically routes it through system B, otherwise it dials out on its local trunks.

Depending on your locations, this will probably be more complex, but for simplicity of example assume that all calls to area code 416 are free from site A and all calls to area code 514 are free from site B.

site A:

SC: [9]1514N;
TN: 9514N
LG: h.323 trunks to site B
F: Dial

Site B:

SC: [9]1416N;
TN: 9416N
LG: h.323 trunks to site A
F: Dial

Both sites:

SC: [9]N;
TN: N
LG: PSTN line group
F: Dial

Does it matter that the ext begin with 9

say 9***

so if they use 9 to dial out , will this affect the 4 digit ext

Bill

That would explain why someone programmed that system to use 8! :)

You can still do it, but your users might not care for the usability. They will have to hit 9 and wait for the timeout to expire so the system will assume they want Secondarydialtone. Be sure to change the shortcode 8/./SecondaryDialtone to 9/./SecondaryDialtone at the same time as you implement the other shortcodes. Or keep your 8 one and add the 9 and give users the option.
