I'm new to PERL, so this question may sound silly.

I've noticed that the syntax changes, depending whether one is using PERL,HTML or CGI scripts.

What I want to do is a simple webpage-program that prints out some information in HTML, opens a CGI box where the user inputs some data, and then acording to the input, some info will be printed on the same page.

I can do this separately, but I'm not sure How to pass data from one bit to another. (I'd like it to be altogether in the same file if posible). So the questions are:

a) Is this possible?
b) How do i convert the data, between the different sections?

At the moment I'm using W98 Apache and Perl, but I'm switching to Linux as soon as possible.

Thanks in advance, and sorry if this post is absurd.
