I've made a comments form in flash and i need to upload a cgi script but i have no cgi-bin on my server...anyone got any ideas were i could upload this tiny 10k file without having to fork out for a host who gives me a cgi-bin??

my site addy is:

if ya wanna have a look.

free hosting w/ cgi-bin support. horrible banner spamming. you might bypass it if you're just linking your cgi script up from there (that's a big maybe)...

only one i can think of off the top of my head.

You could check with your current host, maybe you dont actually need a Cgi-bin. For example if they are running Windows 2000 you can probably run your perl scripts from any folder!

I contacted my host and they said that i couldn't upload a script, but they gave me a link to a site giving information of a script that i could use that they have.

Unfortunately the site only gives information for html forms and i am wanting to intigrate the form with the rest of my content which is done in flash.

I have noooooo experience with scripting wotsoever so im in need of help urgently.

You should contact one of our fellow TT members at

they have some excellent scripts there and they also host scripts afaik. I'm sure they could give you some advice anyway!

This site has a ton of cgi-scripts, both free and licensed. They have a whole section for remotely hosted scripts that may work for you.

There are also a lot of webhosts out there that charge from $5/month to $9/month for sites that offer cgi, php and even mysql. For less than $100 a year you can have a real webhost and no banner ads! When in doubt, deny all terms and defnitions.
