Hello All,

What are the dangers of using CFXA? If I set up a user's phone to forward to an external number, are there security issues involved? If Route Access Code, ESN Access Code and CDP Distant Steering Code are examples of external DN's, what problems could be caused by a dialing mistake if any?

Thanks,

Just Shady

Hi,

let me make up a situation.
User Bill (in USA) lives near to the place where he works, and he has a sister i Japan. Before he goes home, he forwards his work phone to his sister i Japan. Then, when he comes home, he makes a call to his work number, which is a local call. His workphone will then forward the call to his sister in Japan, and who pays the bill for this call?
Not a big problem, and easy to stop, but maybe something to think about.

I leave CFXA to 4 digits, then assign a Pilot DN in a group hunt list !!!
You have to have sdmin rights & access to assign the number so you control what it is -- otherwise they can only forward to another extention or voicemail !!!

watch out for stations call forwarded to 9, dial thier did from outside, and you get dial tone back with the same dialing priviliges as the station user. i used acds to reroute 4 digit ext no. to sales, cell phones.. other users call office fna to acd, ncfw to cell, or cfw to the same acd dn.

Thanks for the information guys. Definately food for thought and some alternate ways to handle the situation.

Thank you,
