CFUPDATE error when using Mac IE

I have a form that works just dandy using Netscape v7 under Mac OS X 10.1.5. It also worked great using OmniWeb v4.1 (Mac OS X browser). However using IE the following error apppears:

[Microsoft][ODBC Microsoft Access Driver]Invalid character value for cast specification (null)

The error occurred while processing an element with a general identifier of (CFUPDATE), occupying...

Is this common?
