Whenever I try to use CFMAIL to send messages to yahoo, I get the following error message:

"Error","TID=-580399","12/19/00","17:37:03","Failed to send the spooled mail file, C:\CFUSION\MAIL\spool\4065.cfmail. SMTP server replied "not local host yahoo.com, not a gateway" Moved file to C:\CFUSION\MAIL\undelivr\5030.cfmail."

Will some one help me solve this problem?

Your mail server is using SMTP authentication which requires you pass a username and password before the mail server will relay the message. This is an anti-spam measure put on the mail server which will keep you from using cfmail. There is an enhancement request (#9363) to fix this but I don't believe it has been implemented yet. I've read that you can use the cfmailparam tag in 4.5.1 to pass a username and password in the mail headers but I believe very few mail servers will pick this up.

I would check the latest service pack from Allaire but I'm not aware of any release that allows you to pass the username and password yet. About the only thing you can do is find a mail server that doesn't use the smtp authentication. I would check with your ISP about using a different mail server as this would get you going. If they can't help you, we do CF hosting and have an anti-spam setup which doesn't interfere with the cfmail tag.

Good Luck,
GJ
