Just wondering if anyone has been this issue... When running :cfgmgr -v I get the following error.

cfgmgr is running in phase 2
cfgmgr: 0514-603 Cannot access the Config_Rules object class in the device configuration database.

I then tried to bring to phase 3 by cfgmgr -p 3 but I get
cfgmgr: 0514-603 Cannot access the Config_Rules object class in the device configuration database.

A DBA accidently ran rm -RF * when doing an informix install. He was in / directory and didnt realize it. We restored what we belief was missing but we are thinking that there are still things corrupted. Is there anyone to fix this issue or do we need to rebuld the server? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Oh DBAsssss!

I think you have to restore form the latest backup unfortunatly

Khalid

You might be able to get away with doing a preservation install.

Thanks guys, if I did do a restore is there a particular file I need to restore to fix this error? If I can't go that route, we'll look into a preservation install. Thanks.

Either reinstall from your mksysb or a preservation install from the AIX CDs

The file cfgmgr starts from is /etc/objrepos/Config_Rules I believe, but a rm -RF * from / will have removed countless other files as well unfortunately... (depends on what userid your DBA was running as)
