Can anyone help me with this? I recently uninstalled a trial version of a product called 'DoubleVision', which seemed to leave some of itself lying around in the system.

Whenever I run cfgmgr the following message appears:

Method error (/etc/methods/startrcon):
0514-068 Cause not known.
sh: /etc/methods/startrcon: not found.

I have run odmget on all the customised object databases, and can't find any eveidence of startrcon. Does anyone know where this might be registered? I would very much like to remove it.

Thankyou
Mark

Check out the predefined databases instead - PdAt, PdCn, PdDv - as there may still be entries in there.

It may be that because there is an entry in the predefined database, but no actual drivers to utiise if it needed them then the error appears.

Not sure, but try it out.

Cheers,
Dave V.

Thanks Dave. I think I've cracked it now. There is another database - Config_Rules - that has a list of objects that cfgmgr uses. I did the following:

cd /etc/objrepos
cp Config_Rules Config_Rules.old
odmget Config_Rules > w1
vi w1 # removing *both* occurences of startrcon
odmdelete -o Config_Rules
odmadd w1
savebase

Now cfgmgr runs through cleanly. If I've missed anything, or done something I shouldn't have, maybe someone can let me know.

Thanks
Mark
