CFEXECUTE and locked files...

Hey-o

Been awhile, but I need your help (anyone?)

I'm cfexecuting ffmpeg to convert video to .flv for a project.
works great, but for some reason, the file specified in cfexectute for output is locked even after cfexecute is done. The .flv file is also locked. can't delete, rename, etc...

i don't think it's an ffmpeg problem, because if i do it manually ffmpeg does not lock the files. The resulting .flv file is only locked if ffmpeg is used from cfexecute.

i'm fairly certain that the it's a cf / cfexecute issue becuase the output="d:\...\flvlog.txt" file from cfexecute is also locked.

any insight? i'm going to reboot a production server in the middle of the day this is driving me crazy

well, I switched over to the java method of running command line... works fine except getting the output streams doesn't work yet, I'll need the output and error streams to see what the program did or didn't do, otherwise your flying totaly blind...

cfexecute only returns the output stream and not the error stream....that's why some applications don't work good with cfexecute..

anyways

got FFMPEG working well, so I can convert prertty much any video into FLV's ala youtube style.

I do not know if you ever figured this out, but I found a few blog tips that mentioned how to process the output and error streams. Its working well so far.

Yes, it is mine. I have just started using ffmpeg but the tips about processing the streams helped me a lot.

By the way, I like your blog. It is nice to see articles like "a comparison of popular CFCs and CFX tags for image resizing". Side-by-side comparisons, especially with images, are very helpful.
