CFAPPLiCATION error help!

Hi Frens:

I have a simple application which has a password login structure and i have used session variables.


but the front page is giving the following error below

Error Diagnostic Information
Error attempting to get the client (Client ID = '380030').


A problem was encountered trying to access the system registry. Error number 1450 occurred.


The error occurred while processing an element with a general identifier of (CFAPPLICATION), occupying document position (1:1) to (1:75) in the template file d:\websites\broadcastdesk\Application.cfm.

That's a server problem that occurs when CF uses the server registry to store client information. If you have high traffic and the CF admin isn't configured to delete client variables soon enough, the registry can fill up and you'll get that error. Here's how to fix.

Right click on the local computer icon on the desktop and choose "Properties". Click on the "Performance" tab and then click "Change" under the "Virtual Memory" section. At the bottom, change the "Maximum Registry Size" to a larger number to give you more space. Click "Ok" at the top, then "OK" again and you just need to reboot to be back up and running.

These are instructions for NT 4.0 so Win2k should be similar (I would hope).
