I just left a customer who has analog lines and likes to call forward unconditional as opposed to using the CO's forward feature. I found that it did not work however when he had an appearance of that line on his phone.
Does anyone know if i can have an analog trunk ring directly to a phone, have an appearance of said line, and have trunk to trunk transfer work?

Thanks

Also i do not have trunk to trunk transfer inhibited in system/telephony and i am allowing it in lines/analogue options (silly brits and their Us)

I don't think you need the line appearance at all, if you set the incoming call route to either a huntgroup that person is in (not collective ringing though) and enable the huntgroup calls forwarding then it should work.
Or if you set the incoming call route to the user and tehn forward it it should work too. Make sure you use reliable disconnect on hte lines or the calls will stay on it until the power goes off :)

I know i dont *need* it but the customer wants it and one of the reasons is to see if it locks up! I do have the line pointed directly to the ext in incoming call routs but it does not work if he has the line appearance on the phone.

If the line appearance user is also the incoming call routes destination, the call will alert on their line appearance only. In this case:

· It will alert on the line appearance even if all call appearances are in use.

· The call will not follow any of the user's forwarding settings.

From the help file "How are Line Appearances Treated?"

this means that you should have a bogus user forwarding the calls without the line appearances but as teh target of the calls.
Better even have a group get the incoming calls and set that group into night service with a button and have the forwarding user in the night fallback group and then it will forward and you still see the status on the initial users phone. You can reprogram the button from forwarding to set huntgroup night service then you stil have the light telling you that the calls are forwarded.
