CF login app

Hi,
has anyone tried out a login app called Security Framework by Dynamic Site Solutions (Michael M Moss)?
I´m having problem with the configuration of the app.
The instructions say that I can change the ClientVariables to be written in the "Registry" to "Cookie". But it still doesn´t work. My webmaster isn´t to happy about the app wanting to write to the servers registry. The application.cfm-file that is included is unfortunately encrypted so I can´t see whats wrong. Has anyone had the same problem with this app?
Does anyone know of a better login app outhere?

Encrypting app.cfm? That's bad taste... I disapprove of decrypters, but I'd run one on app.cfm anyway.. App.cfm is a very crucial script and I would want to know what's in there.
