I know PHP has pre-built forum applications, but does CF have anything similar?

A client wants to have a forum feature on their site and instead of building one (which would take some time but the client does not want to wait), I was wondering if they can purchase or get a license for a CF based fourm feature.

ECAR, i'm doing that now. I wanted to ask here also in case someone has prior experience and can suggest an application.

NorthStarDA, from what i've played around with, this is exactly what I was looking for. Very clean and nice design also.

Thanks!

Thanks...glad ya liked it...

If ya want it let me know...
I will send you the files....Its not packaged or nothing so you will have to customize it or tweak it to get it to work...also I may have some embedded code in there that you will need to remove...

daNewfie, hey I would love a copy of that. I just need the forum section. Can you go to my site and email me from there? I don't want to publish my email on a public forum (besides I think that's against the rules)

I will give you full credir for this on the client's site.

Thanks!

This is a little off-topic, but speaking of forums - I'm noticing a lot these days seem to have new post icons on the threads page. It serves to tell the user if there has been any new posts in ANY of the threads since the last time the user had logged in and viewed the forums.

I'm still scratching my head wondering how to do this? Obviously I could check the date of the post against the last date/time the user was logged in, but this seems very heavy to have on the main forums page containing all the threads?

Do you suppose that Macromedia do a Google for this phrase
<META NAME="ColdFusionMXEdition" CONTENT="ColdFusion DevNet Edition - Not for Production Use.">
so they can track down illegal websites and prosecute them? I notice that it's at the top of daNewfie's site - obviously an oversight running a production site on DevNet version.

about the recently updated icons / last read... it's all ID's & dates stored in cookies generally.

name the cookie after the id and the date as the value?

Hello buddies,

I am completely lost in this thing. I'm no connaisseur, amd perhaps this is going to irritate some of you. I need my web site pages to be some kind of forum where comments can be posted, and titles of comments can automatically appear on margin columns as links. I dont know if it is an application or a page build-up. please open this link to see what I mean.

Can anyone help me do this please!
