I am looking at doing a mcad or a mcsd or a mspd. I am quite new to the industry and am looking for abit of guidance in terms of choosing one and the benefits of the certification eg. jobs, salarys, room for growth in the industry etc.

Thanks
Justin

The benefits will depend on your company and the weight that they place on the certs, and/or future companies which you will be interviewing for / working for.

Generally certs will give you a bit of an edge when going for the new job over the guy that doesn't have them. The cert won't get you into that high paying top level position all it self (based on your phrasing, I'm guessing that you already know this).

If the company that you work for puts value on certs you may be able to get a little bump in pay for getting one, and it may help a little on salary (a couple thousand a year) at your next interview.

The most important thing you will get it the self satisfaction of knowing that you were able to do it.
