I have a number of centrex lines connected to various norstar equipment. The ringing on the centrex lines is double, so when an incoming call comes in it sounds identical to an internal DN - DN call, or a call that comes in via the AA.

I was told a 'ring generator' could correct this. Has anyone done this before, or can you recommend another solution to this problem?

Thanks.

Have you checked with the centrex provider to see if they can change it? I have never heard of double ring on a centrex C.O., maybe it was an option put on the line awhile back?
I dont know about anything that converts double ring to single ring but that is not to say they make one.
If you have a MICS then upgrade to 6.0 if nobody can help you out as it will allow you to have distinctive ringing on lines...you will still get the double ring maybe but it will sound different then an intercom pattern.

The Double ring on intercom calls is a value of centrex (based on the CO switch) Your vendor should be able to help you if you want to change it so the centrex stations get the same ring whether the call is intercom or external.
Sorry to say I could not find the specific reference in my centrex book but I have been assured that it is adjustable. JerryReeve
