Hi all,

I am currently setting up centrailized vmail between two BCMs (3.6) using VOIP trunks and MCDN protocol. I've ALMOST got it. When I call an extension of the 'other' side, it forwards correctly to the vmail of the Host side but it gives me the general delivery mailbox, not the mailbox built for that extension.

I've got to be missing something small.... the host BCM is just not recognizing that the call is coming from a specific extension number and matching it to a created mailbox.

Any ideas?

No joy. I went under the extension of the satellite BCM and entered the ext # in the Private OLI# spot. When I call from an extension on the Host BCM to the extension on the satellite BCM, it forwards to the Host vmail correctly. It's still just giving me the General Delivery mailbox.

Any more ideas? ;-)

Longshot here - is the business name configured on the remote BCM? I can't remember if that is needed to carry the call ID across the IP trunks, or if that only is needed to carry name.

Have you built mailboxes in the callpilot for the remote extensions?

I have a document that I downloaded from another BCM forum that is a step by step of how to do just this. It was listed under the "files" section of the forum. I've not tried it, but plan to see if it works in the very near future. Let me know if you want me to send it and what email to forward it to.

thats Ms Roberts ...
and Mr Marshall can i have a copy of that guide too?
should i pm you from ur website?

Yep, I have built the mailboxes and initialized them.

Inet2xtreme, I would love a step by step BCM MCDN Centralized vmail set up guide!!! Since posting email addys can be sticky would you mind going to , click on the training tab and you'll find my email address

Thanks Senk1s, yes it is Melissa Roberts [ponytails2]

Any guide that you may have Marshall would be welcome. I've been around your site and didn't see one the last time I was there...

Is "enable network transfers" enabled on the Host call pilot side? If you could go thru the settings you have, I may be able to help you out as I just did this last week.

On the Host BCM you have to check ENABLE EXTERNAL INITIALIZATION, also under system propeties

I don't believe that I have ENABLE EXTERNAL INITIALIZATION checked on either side.

I DO have ENABLE NETWORK TRANSFERS enabled on both sides.

I will try the ENABLE EXTERNAL INITIALIZATION and see what happens. If it's a no joy, then I will post my exact steps for examination by one and all. ;-)

Thanks!

The only part of the guide that I am having a problem with is where it's showing that the vmail DN is 400, it says to program Destination Code for VMDN to route to host system. In the screen shot pictured it shows the host system as having a destination code of 400 (host VMDN)AND a dest code of 2A.

Then in the Remote Gateway it is showing destination digits of 2 400. I don't get the 2 space in front of the vmdn.

I just put the beginning digit of the 'other' side's extensions. I can make calls back and forth over the VOIP trunks just fine.

This is driving me NUTS! [banghead]

What is the purpose of centrailized vmail?, Both BCM's have Callpilot and sending Vmail back to the main one uses 2 VOIP trunks.

Most like the ability to reply back to those internal extensions on their network who leave them messages.

Call management functions being done from one central location is also desireable.

Perhaps Large group list consisting of multiple locations on the network.

Maybe centralized Call Center with agents in multiple locations...

Those are a few applications, off the top of my head....

I've got everything set up the way the other guide said to and I'm still having problems.... Please send me or point me to your guide. Perhaps there is just one little thing I am missing.

I am trying a couple of things then I will post all of my steps so that maybe one of y'all can see what I am missing.

Thanks
Melissa
