I have some vba code that pastes data as a table into word 97. The problem is that if a cell contains more than a certain number of characters only the first 1000 or so of them are pasted. The only way I can get all the text across is to go back into excel, select the cell then select all the text in the formula bar, copy that and paste it into word.

I don't really want to do this so is there any way of making sure the text isn't shortened or failing that a way of automating the selection of text in the formula bar.

I've got as far as finding which cells are missing some text in word and then selecting the related cell in the excel workbook but don't know how to select the cell in the formula bar - can it even be done? (it refuses to do it when i try and record a macro)

Cheers!

What code are you using to copy the cell contents ?

If you are Using [Cell].Text try [Cell].Value, where Cell is the cell address you are trying to copy.

Excel only displays 1024 at most characters per cell, and the Text property returns not the vallue of the cell, but the displayed value.
