Cell Background Image postion

I am trying to position a graphic in the same cell as text, and I would like the graphic to align to the right side of the cell and the text(only 1 line) to the left side of the cell. I could create another cell for the gaphic, but it would require rewriting a lot of javascript that is assciated with the table. Is there a way to right align an image in the background of the cell as you can position a background on a page?
