CE9 Pro eportfolio and .net remoting

Greetings All
I need to know if anyone out there has tried to configured CE eportfolio to run using remoting. I have a asp.net app that we run on the company intranet but allow a segment of users to access through the internet. All database access is handled through a dedicated TCP port for security.I would like to make eportfolio available to these users as well. My other thought would be to use a vpn to get them inside but we have the remoting up and running for the rest of the app including CR9 reports generated by the report rdc and then streamed to pdf. Any comments or suggestions appriciated.

Should have done my homework first. My CE 8.5 Book "Using CE 8.5" by Que has the info I need. What I was trying to ask about was running CE in the DMZ between two firewalls. I see now that this is possible using the web connector in the DMZ with the other services running inside the second firewall.
