Hi, I am currently looking at upgrading CE8 to CE10. I am following the instruction guidelines given by BO for upgrading 9 to 10 as no instruction currently exist for 8 to 10. It mentions that you need to create a CMS database and connect via a DSN or via SQL, I am trying to follow the instructions be not having any joy.

Has anybody any documentation or ideas about the upgrade.

Thanks in advance.

Create a database in SQL Server called something like 'CE100' and then create an ODBC source to it (start->Control Panel->Administrative Tools->ODBC).

Then you can select it as the target for the upgrade.

Good to know. How about functionality between 8.0 and 10.0. Do the reports need to be converted? do the schedule instances need to be recreated?
any info you can spare I'll take. Do you suggest any references or manuals

When you upgrade from 8 to 10 the reports are updated for you as part of the upgrade routine. All instances are taken across, version 10 of enterprise is different to version 8 in a lot of ways. If you have time, read the administration guide on the install CD to, or download the the BO website install guides from 8 to 10
