Could someone enlighten me as to how exactly the page server is supposed to work? I am accessing reports on a web server, with Interbase6 (via ODBC).

When i have viewed 7 reports on the server, i receive an error telling me Interbase has exeeded its maximum number of users.

Does the page server retain connections to the database?

Yes it does. In the CMC is a setting called Minutes Before an Idle Job is Closed and the default setting is 20 mins.
It's under servers/page server.

thx roughing, I ended up getting it sorted.. took me a while to be able to run CMC, had to stop apache and run IIS (yuck)

I am trying to follow the suggestion you posted. What is CMC and does it apply solely to Interbase 6? How do I get to it?
I have my page server running on an NT box. I am connecting using an Oracle ODBC.

NO way am i giving up on apache, the iis was only temporary while i operated CMC.

rshawtx.... CMC is the crystal management consol. It applies to crystal enterprise 8 (and others i guess)

why arent u using an interbase driver?
