CE8 CSP code to determine if a user is in a particular group.

I am wanting to make a small customisation of the CE8 ePortfolio CSP code so that a hyperlink appears on the ePortfolio main page only if the logged on user is a member of a particular CE user group.

I have had a look through the SDK and examined the CE8 system database but cannot seem to find an API call or system database query that will allow me to iedntify the user's group.

Have I missed something or is this just a limitation of the CE8 API?
