CE8.5 - export to text

hi,
i have a report (database: SAP tables) over a certain period of time (currentdate-10 to currentdate). the report's output is exported into text-format on the enterprise server. when running locally, the data is selected quickly but the conversion (export) takes a long time.

Now the problem is: running on the server, the report is said to be executed successfully but in fact, the output is empty. To me it looked like there was a timeout or something like that while exporting the data and so i tried to shorten the period in the selection (from 10 days to 5 days back). And now it seems to work, i.e. i get my output file INCLUDING data ;-)

I have no idea if that's a bug (couldn't find anything similar in the knowledgebase), but perhaps any of you already had the same problem and found a workaround?

Hi, Check a couple of things..

1: What is the record count for the 2 time spans..

CE has a default limit set on the # of records returned for an ad-hoc ( view-on-demand) report ( 20K I think) .

2: what is the timeout setting on your pageserver?

thanks a lot - though the report isn't viewed on demand but scheduled, the timeout setting on the pageserver may be the cause of the problem. Acutally, I had no idea, that there was such a thing on the pageserver - but it makes sense ;-)
I'll forward this to our admin to check the setting.

Hi,
The setting to check is 'Minutes before an Idle job is closed' --- when data takes a long time to be returned to the report, the pageserver see this as an idle job..

( at least that has been my experience )
