What causes the "Crystal APS" in the CCM to start slow? This just started and I noticed a lot of scheduled reports are failing. So I restarted the Crystal APS to bounce the service and I noticed it took a while before it is on running state. The reports generated from ePrortfolio doesn't seem to run, it is just sitting on pending state.

Thanks,

Steve C.

Hi,
Most of the APS startup time is in connecting to and reading from the Database it is using for its data..
Are there other apps, etc using that same datasource?

Are there any errors is the Event Log relating to the CE stuff?

Are all your services running under an account with sufficient rights to all the file locations/database locations it needs?

Please indicate:
CE version
OS
Databases used ( both APS and Reports)

I just know gained access to the event log. The server is in a nother state. anyway, Crystal_pageserver cannot be found, Crystal_cacheserver cannot be found, Crystal_JobServer cannot be found, and Crystal_SvcMgr cannot be found.

I'm still trying to get remote access so I can see the CMC and the status of all the servers. any thoughts why this is I am getting these errors?

Thanks,

Steve C.

Hi,
Yes..The services are not started or enabled on the Server...You will need to see the CMC to find out why..
( Perhaps they are set to Manual or are dependent on the APS starting first and it is failing to start).

Has this installation ever worked?

Hi,
Oops...Two (and too) similar acrocyms - I meant you need to access the CCM to check on the services...

Yes, this has worked before. It quit generating reports last tuesday.

Thanks, I'll work on getting access to it then.
