Hi all

I have 2 users that are having issues with reports. The parameter window pops up, they select what they want. then the parameter window pops up again and again. This is not happening on any other pc. As I write this I am wondering if it might be an issue with ActiveX being disabled. They are not here now so I can not check that. Has anyone seen anything like this?

thanks

If it's desktop specific, then I'd suspect something about the browser as well, or some previous install of Crystal on those desktops.

Both are Windows XP, neither had a previous install of Crystal. They are requesting the report with IE, latest version.

Crystal's engine is used in many products and the user's and even admin's may not be aware of this.

Try uninstalling the Active-X viewer and then letting Crystal reinstall it.

Synapsevampire... thanks for responding.

I looked for a viewer in Add/Remove Programs No luck. I looked around in the IE folder and did not see anything. I have dropped IE security to low and still get the same issue.

thanks

Here's what we publish to our users, and then ask them to run a new report so Crystal can reinstall the viewer:

1. Search the client machine for crviewer.dll. If found:
Unregister the control by opening a DOS prompt and entering: regsvr32 /u "path\crviewer.dll (where path is the directory its located in)
Delete it

2. Navigate to winnt\downloaded program files and see if you have a "Crystal Smart Viewer" installed there. If it is installed, right-click and choose "remove". This will unregister and delete it from the ActiveX Cache.
