Hi,

I am trying to schedule a Crystal report using Microsoft Text Driver connecting to a text file as the data source. thread782-1375932 has been very helpful. I have set up the ODBC connection on the sever and also using the domin ID as suggested in the thread above. But I am not sure if I got CMC set up correctly because I am getting 'Failed to load database information'.

when talking to BO support, they are telling that I need to use Microsoft Access Driver which does not make sense to me because my data source is not an Access table.

The following is what I have on CMC:
- I selected 'Use custom database logon information'
- For Server, I have the path to the data source
- For Database, I have the name of the ODBC connection
- For ID and password, I am using the domain ID that is the same as the one for the Page server on CCM

Could you please let me know if anything is missing?

Thanks.

First, reports based on TXT files are a terrible idea...if it's important enough to report on, it's important enough to be in a real corporate DB (MS-SQL, Oracle, DB2).

Here endeth the rant.

1.) Are you using a UNC-path or a mapped-drive to access the TXT-file....? You need to use a UNC-path.

2.) Is the ODBC to that TXT file a System DSN on each BO server in your cluster...?

3.) Does the account that each of your BO services are running under have access to the UNC-path..?

Thanks for the reply.

I did get it working. UNC-path did the trick. Also, the Page server on CE needs to use the domain name which has the access to the UNC-path.

Thanks!
