Hi All,

I'm setting up a CE10 install to run a massive amount of reports. One thing i'm not sure about it is the config settings of the various servers. For example

For the page server :
Minutes Before an Idle Connection is Closed:
Minutes Before an Idle Report Job is Closed:

Cache Server :
Maximum Cache Size Allowed (KBytes):

Are there any articles or tutorials that give a comprehensive discussion of config settings based on volume.

What config settings are the most important to monitor in terms of increasing performnance.

thanks in advance

Hi,
The single most important factor in performance is, IMHO, the datasource and the effectiveness of the query sent to it in having most processing done by the database and not by Crystal.

The Idle settings and cache size are very dependent on your particular situation ( I have found the default cache size to be sufficient in our 4GB Xeon servers)

I have observed that very few performance problems are caused by the CE services themselves ( given a server that meets the basic specs provided in the installation notes), but rather by what they are being asked to do..
