CE10 "Page Not Found" error

I just worked through a tricky problem with a new CE10 install. The customization of the tools, such as company logos and colors are set through the Crystal Applications option in the CMC.

If you go to the admin tool and select "Crysatal Applications", then select either "Web Desktop" or Crystal Management Console" and get a "Page Not Found" error the problem may be URL Scan.

URL Scan runs on the web server and looks for abnormalities in the URL to prevent malicious code from being run on the web server. One of it's setting is to not allow url strings that contain ".". If this option is turned on the page will not load because it calls Crystal Web Request and one of the parameters of the CWR is for "CrystalEnterprise.ePortfolio". The "." in this URL is caught by URL Scan and rejected.

Hi, If it rejects any URL with a ".", how do you get anywhere, since most URLs have periods (

http://www.microsoft.com,

for instance)

Sorry, I was too generic.

The actual definition of the feature is: "Allow "." that are not file extensions" This looks beyond the domain address.
