Our CE10 was working and I was in the process of creating the user groups. I didn't login in two days and now it doesn't seem to resolve csp files. now I get a "page cannot be displayed - HTTP 500 - Internal Server Error."

When I try to do the same from the server, I get the csp code instead of the page.

What would cause the system to stop resolving csp files?

Thanks,

Steve C.

Have you logged into the server and looked at the crystal services in the ccm? make sure they are all running.

Yes, I have. All the services are running. Last I heard is the security folks had pushed a security patch and that is the same day when I noticed the problem.

Thanks,

Steve C.

Hi,
Check the IIS configuration to be sure the association of .csp with the CE DLL has not been changed or restricted..

Funny you should mentioned about IIS. I've been looing around in the IIS manager about csp association but have no luck. I would appreciate it if you can direct me.

Thanks,

Steve C.

Hi,
Go to the IIS manager, right-click on the Default Web Site ( unless you have a custom one)..Choose Properties..Click on the 'Home Directory' tab and then click on 'Configuration' - look in the list of application associations to see what .csp ( and 3 others, usually) are mapped to.( wcsisapi.dll is what it should be pointing to)

Found it but when I clicked browse and browsed wcsisapi.dll file in the same location, I get a "You must enter a valid path" error. What would cause this?

Thanks,

Steve C.

Hi,
If there are spaces in any of the directory names, enclose the entire line in " marks..

Also be sure that path exists..use the Windows explorer to look for it..

Thanks that took. The site is still not resolving csp files. I am still getting HTTP 500 - Internal Server Error.

I wonder, would installing CE again fix this problem?

Thanks,

Steve C.

I had this happen to me on Crystal Enterprise 8.5 back in 2002 so take this with a grain of salt. The server was not processing any script files (asp or csps). Here's what I did to resolve it at that time:

I went to the Control Panel>Administrative Tools>Component Services>Computers>My Computer>COM+ Applications>IIS Out-of-Process Pooled Applications (IIS OOPPA). I right clicked on IIS OOPPA and went to Properties>Identity and changed the option from interactive user to using a distinct domain\logon (XXXX\CCCCC). The system gives a warning, which I ignored, and the server was back up and running.

I think at some level there’s a mismatch with the security settings/passwords across the COM+ Applications.

Excellent point bgul1. I'll check that out. There was a security patch that was pushed the night before the server quit resolving csp files. Anyway, the repair procedure did the trick and I am curious to find out about this new information.

Thanks,

Steve C.
