CE Thin Client Help

I don't think those thin clients have secure telnet; I use regular telnet on my thin client into my redhat box, and just have port 23 (telnet) blocked through the firewall.
The only *REALLY* secure way I could think of doing it is the way we used to do it with the good ol' Wyse 50's... Serial cable. No protocols to tap there, and it's not on the network.
