I have a Crystal Enterprise app that is written in CSP / ASP. We use the ActiveX viewer as our report viewer.

Our users are asking for the ability to generate reports on demand and instead of saving the report in a PDF and then emailing the report, they would like to automatically create an email with the PDF as an attachment.

Currently, the export formats are Word, Excel, RTF and PDF.

Does anyone have any clue how this may be done??

I see a lot references to doing this through the scheduling process, but in our case the scheduling is not going to be used.

Any thoughts?

Thanks!

Try posting verion information when requesting technical information.

Once the report has been ran and is in the Active-X viewer, the viewer does not offer different delivery mechanisms, nor can you modify the Viewer.

The default ePortfolio allows users to schedule a report to be emailed via PDF to email, with one choice being Now, but this is dependent upon the CE edition and version.

That's the problem with coidng a new CSP/ASP app for CE, you have to recode everything.

The easiest solution would be to call the Schedule.csp file from your application, this will give you all the scheduling options in CE (schedule now/send to email) with minimal amount of coding. You will just have to go in the CSS file and modify it to match your application.
