CE and JBoss

I inherited a setup with CE9 installed "stand-alone" on one machine and with JBoss on another.

No special installation configuration was performed to tell either machine about the other. So there are no "web connectors" installed on the JBoss machine.

Despite this, the supplied WebExample.war (for example) seems to work. (Perhaps the web connectors are in the app itself?)

Is this an acceptable setup if the intent is to write JSP code to access the reports?
