My original post was searching for a means to run a CE 9 report from a COBAL program, but perhaps there's a utility out there (perhaps a VB wrapper or some such) which might allow for an external program to call Crystal from a command line to pass parameters and execute a report?

I'd like to avoid any URL clear text passing of user/password, but again, all thoughts are appreciated.

Did I type COBAL...I would prefer COBOL...geez...

The point of this (these) threads are to try to learn a means to execute CE 9 reports with parms from the UNIX world.

Hi synapse..

I expect a combination of VBscript, javascript and
use of the CMS's authentication to get a token could be implemented by a call to the asp ( or csp) pages handling it ( just like any custom coded CE interface) and by using the COBOL program to pass the information needed to run the report..But, I am not sure if that would meet your needs..It would depend on the purpose of the COBOL program.
