I'm a CE newbie and after getting things setup, there's still a slight problem. In CR 9.0, I go into a new report and then try to save it. After a File > Save As... there is no option for saving the report in Enterprise. Of the three machines that have CR 9.0 on them, mine is the only one that does not have the Enterprise option. Does anyone have any ideas on how to remedy this?

Thanks,
JC

If you check the version of your CR compared to the other two clients, you'll probably find that you're the only one on 9.0 while they're on 9.2.

You can upgrade with the copy of CR that came with the CE package to remedy your problem.

Thanks Naith

I looked at that earlier and even applied SP1 to my machine but still had no results. I've even tried reinstalling. Anything else?

Thanks,
JC

Look on the CE disk for a directory called Upgrade ( or maybe update)..Run it to upgrade the 9 CR to use enterprise folders..

Hi,

I've seen instances where the "Developer" edition did not have the Enterprise option but the "Professional" edition did??? Don't know if this is standard practice or not.

Nuffsaid.

On a recent call with Crystal support, they clarified this with me. Apparently if you purchased CR 9 or received a CR 9 upgrade CD before CE 9 was released, you have an older version of crw32.exe that does not support the open/save from/to CE. I had both an old and a new build of CR9 so Crystal instructed me to use the CD with crw32.exe v9.2.2.634 which I did and I for sure have the CE integration. To check the version on your CD, find crw32.exe at \ProgramF\CRYSTAL\CRW9, then right click and select Properties, then Version.

I don't believe you can get this functionality by simply installing SP1 or other hotfixes. If you've already got CR 9 installed, get a newer CD (call Crystal if you have to), upgrade, then apply the latest hot fixes.

Thanks all for the info. I just talked to Crystal support and was told pretty much the same thing. There is a CR Pro disk that comes with Enterprise. You HAVE to use this CR disk on your report creating workstation if you want to access CE. I had used a separate Crystal Reports disk to initially install and hence, the problem. FYI, Crystal will send you an update disk free of charge - or at least they were going to do so for me. Again thanks for the help.
