I need to connect CE to our Pervasive SQL 2000 server to provide reports to our clients. I've tried creating a system DSN for Pervasive, and when I try to use it, CE reports back that only a handful of databases are supported (Pervasive is not listed). Is there a way to get around this? I want my customers to be able to access the reports without having to enter login information for the data source. Currently, I'm prompted for the the username and password when trying to run the report. It loops but I believe that it is because it cannot access the data source which is in Pervasive.

Am I on the right track here? This is the first time for me working with CR and CE.

Thanks,
Tom

This may not be the best solution but I have used a DBMS as an intermediary between Crystal and the DBMS that holds the data. For instance I have used linked tables in Access to get the data into a format Crystal can understand. I do not recomend this for large amounts of data or OLTP production databases but it can get you through in a pinch.

Quick question: which software is using the Pervasive.SQL 2000 engine?

Thanks

Pervasive is being used by our accounting application, Great Plains (now owned by MS). We will be upgrading to MS-SQL or Oracle at some point.

I was able to get it to work. First, I saved the report in question with the proper login information. I then used Recrystallize instead of the publisher built into CE and it worked fine. I'm able to acces the report via EPortfolio and I'll be putting up the webserver in the next day or so (so far, it works internally).

Thanks!
