Hello,
I've finally gotten the CE10 system up and running, but I can't schedule to the unmanaged file system. Under Servers, reportjobserver and programjobserver, the Destinations Tab is greyed out. I've checked, and a full install was done. I'm logged on as the BO Administrator, although I don't have full Admin rights to the operating system.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance.

Hi,
Writing to an unmanaged disk requires OS rights in addition to CE rights..The Reportserver and jobserver must be running under an account ( an OS account, preferably a Domain account) that has full rights to the destination folder and location.

Thank you, I've asked our IT group to change the account that is being used to login for those services

Hi Turkbear,
Our IT group put in an account that has domain rights, but the destination tab is still greyed out, any other ideas?

Thanks

Hi,
I believe that setting up file system destinations is a 2 step process in the CMC - first it must be enabled ( like other destinations, such as EMail) and then the specific file system location can be set in the server's config tab.

That's the problem, the destinations tab is greyed out on the server management area of the CMC, so we can't even set a default location or email destination.

Hi,
I posted a reply to a similar question here:
thread782-1578155, but missed that it was for CE10 so some was incorrect, but did you try this part:
To enable or disable destinations for a job server
1. Go to the Servers management area of the CMC.
2. Click the link for the job server for which you want to enable or disable adestination.
3. Select the check box for each destination you want to support.
4. Click Enable. To disable destinations, click Disable. When a destination is disabled ared circle is shown beside the name.
5. If you enabled the destination, you must also configure the destination.See "Configuring the destination properties for job servers" on page

That's the problem, the Destinations Tab in the server itself is greyed out so that I can't even try to enable a destination.

Hi,
Sorry, I forgot that the check boxes are on the same tab -

Was this a full install of CE or a custom one..Possibly that component/option was not installed?

It was a full, complete install. But as I've since found out it was done remotely with an ID that has Admin rights. I've found a another thread that suggested that you must be a locally logged on admin to do the install correctly, so I'm waiting for our IT group to try that.

Thank you for your help, I'll update once I find out if the new install works.

Hi,
Sorry not to be more helpful but the local admin login for that server might be what is needed.

I appreciate all the help you did give, I think my install was just "flawed" from the start. Darn IT politics :')
