We are running CE 10 on Windows 2003 (no service packs). We have clustered the main system on 2 servers which is running well. A separate IIS server is running the Web Connector which is also using Windows 2003 (no service packs).
It was determined that the IIS server should be clustered in order build redundancy for Crystal and other applications that are running on that server. The cluster is setup using "Windows Load Balancing" which is software based IP clustering running on 2 Windows 2003 nodes.
We did some testing and found that Crystal would respond successfully using our Virtual server URL, and the URL specific to each machine.
About 1/2 hr after 'going live' with the new URL from the Virtual server, we started to find that one server or the other would not respond. We were receiving "Communication Error". Some configuration changes were made on the IIS servers and now everything appears to be running smoothly.
My question is this, has anyone setup load balancing for their IIS servers successfully? Any gotcha's you can share?
All ideas are appreciated,
