Hi

We have a problem, we have a CD program that is multiplatform, we burn this disk on Windows using CD Creator, problem is this Windows install is fine, Linux is fine, but most of the UNIX platforms are giving us trouble, executable files are no longer flagged as executable so we cant run the install, also some of the files have a ;1 after them, I think there maybe is a switch when mounting to remove that.

Any help would be good.

If you mean the platforms that we cant execute,

HP9
AIX
Solaris

Ta, Simon

If you ftp the files to the windows box ,you must use binary in the transfer .Solaris defaults to asci so you must denote the binary transfer.

Well we have sort of found the answer.

If we burn the CD in "Rock Ridge" format, we can view the CD in HP9 (still not execute though), but the AIX works perfectly now, we are yet to check the Solaris box, but it looks as if it is down to the format in which we burn the CD.

For Solaris usig the mkisofs command. This will create an ISO image that you can then ftp to your windows box and create the image. A word of caution, if you enable long filenames (max 32 characters) CD Creator will truncate it to 24 characters.
