Are you saying that you have tried a "known to work" cd rom on several cables and it won't work? If so try it on a different IDE channel making sure the master/slave setting is correct. Enter the bios setup screen on bootup and see if it detects it in there. If it doesn't see it there it looks like a bad IDE controller on the mainboard not enough free space to delete file...delete one or more files and try again...(real error message)

In your BIOS, ensure that you don't have NONE selected for any of the primary/secondary/master/slave settings. Make sure they're set to AUTO. And all of the above is correct also. Error! Keyboard not attached. Press F1 to continue Phil Si fractum non sit, noli id reficere.

Can you elaborate a little further, please. What is your h/ware setup - mobo, h/d, cpu, plus what OS. Has this just happened for no apparent reason, or did you do something (that you can think of) that created this situation? More info helps us help you...Thanks.
