I just got a new computer and the CDR is acting up...

*Some info that might be necessary...
The CDR Drive is a CyberDrive CW038D CDRW (And I'm running XP. (AMD Athlon 1700+ w/ 256MB)

First off, when I open CDR-Win an error message pops up that says:
"Error: Unable to initialize the ASPI manager
ASPI manager was not found on system"

Then the program starts normally once I click OK. But it doesn't recognize my CDR drive. (meanwhile it works fine when I play audio cds, installed unreal tournament, and etc.) So needless to say I don't get to burn my CD. :(

So I thought that maybe the drive just wasn't compatable with the program and I downloaded FireBurner. Which seems to work fine at first, until it gets an error and spits the CD out during the Test Burning process. ...No luck there.

I'm moderately computer literate so I did a few basic things in the hardware/device manager but got no results. I did a search on "ASPI Manager" and got nothing that seemed helpful in my situation.

If anyone has any info on these problems, or knows what I should do, please let me know! It will be greatly appreciated and will save me hours of frustration. :)

Thanks A LOT!

Hi, I have the same issue and was wondering if you found an answer?

you need to update the ASPI layer for XP that will take care of it ...then cdrwin will work fine
